# Twain (twain.ai) > Twain is the GTM agent platform that decides what is worth saying before it writes. It researches accounts and contacts in real time, qualifies each lead, and turns the evidence into outreach worth sending and replying to. Depending on the mode, teams can inspect the Research, Thesis, and Strategy behind the sequence. Base, High, and Ultra give each lead the right depth of research and judgment, from fast high-volume generation to a written plan for what to say and why. ## Positioning - Landing-page headline: "GTM agents that research everything." - Landing-page subheadline: "Build agents that research accounts in real-time, qualify contacts, and craft bespoke outreach. Runs where you work." - Search and social-preview positioning: "Outreach worth sending and replying to." Twain connects accurate messaging to better pipeline by leading with relevant, current signals. - Category: GTM agent platform, sales intelligence, deep research for outbound, contact qualification, and research-backed B2B outreach. - Twain is the intelligence and campaign-design layer, not a CRM or sending tool. It produces research, decisions, and copy, then exports or syncs them to the systems that send. - Twain agents are bounded, LLM-powered research, qualification, and writing systems. Users run them through Twain's UI, public API, MCP server, and campaign automations; they are not generic standalone chatbots. - Disambiguation: Twain at twain.ai is the GTM agent platform from Twain Technology GmbH. It is not the TWAIN scanner standard, TWAIN Working Group, Twain Capital Partners, Sawyer Twain, or TwainGPT. ## Product Model 1. **Agent:** A reusable workspace configuration holds personas, research rules, qualification warnings, voice, blocklist, terminology, and a company knowledge base. New agents build company knowledge from the user's website and supplied material. 2. **Campaign brief:** A guided conversation defines the reason for reaching out, angle, offer, sequence steps, and channels. 3. **Generation Mode:** Teams choose how deeply Twain should research and reason for each lead. 4. **Lead report:** Depending on the mode, each lead gets Sequence, Research, Thesis, and Strategy outputs rather than an unexplained draft alone. 5. **Review and delivery:** Teams inspect sources and warnings, then export or sync the finished work to CRMs, sequencers, Google Sheets, or CSV. 6. **Campaign log:** Each campaign records generations, mode spend, imports, exports, targeting changes, automation activity, failures, and the person or system responsible. ## Generation Modes - **Base — 1 credit per lead:** Real-time account and contact research, relationship context, and fast writing. It follows writing instructions strictly and produces the Sequence and Research tabs. - **High — 2 credits per lead:** Adds LinkedIn and YouTube signals, Absent signals, contact and account qualification, and the Thesis tab. High is the standard/default depth. - **Ultra — 8 credits plus 2 per sequence step:** Runs the most searches, produces the deepest research and thesis, adds the Strategy tab, and gives the writer more freedom to decide what matters. Ultra requires the campaign agent to have a company knowledge base. - In the UI, regenerating one lead at its current mode is free. Upgrading to a deeper mode charges the new mode's full price; generated leads cannot be downgraded. Bulk regeneration has separate Ultra step charges. See the Generation Modes guide for the complete rules. ## What Makes Twain Different - **Depth per lead:** A large exploratory list and a short, high-value account list no longer have to receive the same amount of research and reasoning. - **Grounded company context:** Agent-level company knowledge keeps research, qualification, proof points, and writing tied to the user's actual business. - **Research before copy:** Twain combines current public-web research with CRM context, including prior relationship history where available. - **Visible reasoning artifacts:** Signals include source references; Absent signals show what deeper modes checked but did not find; Thesis explains why the lead matters; Strategy explains how to approach them. - **Qualification and warnings:** Twain checks contact and account fit and flags bad, outdated, conflicting, or off-ICP data instead of silently shipping it. - **Unique multi-channel writing:** Twain creates per-lead email and LinkedIn steps without spintax or generic templates. - **Run anywhere:** Teams can use the product UI, native integrations, public REST API, or MCP-compatible assistants. - **Custom onboarding:** Twain helps teams deploy their GTM agents, including weekly health checks and agent audits. - Landing-page authority claim: "The most accurate GTM agents*", with the footnote "Result from blind test conducted by Clay." ## Product Reference - [Full AI assistant reference](https://www.twain.ai/llms-full.txt): Detailed positioning, product model, Modes, outputs, pricing, integrations, API, MCP, and terminology. - [Landing page](https://www.twain.ai/): Canonical public product page. - [Generation Modes](https://www.twain.ai/blog/generation-modes): Base, High, and Ultra; their outputs, pricing, upgrade rules, and campaign log. - [Blog](https://www.twain.ai/blog): Product guides, integration setup, and automation examples. - [Pricing](https://www.twain.ai/pricing): Current monthly subscriptions, one-time credit packs, Generation Mode costs, and credit-expiry rules. ## Selected Guides - [Campaign Brief: a Conversation, Not a Form](https://www.twain.ai/blog/campaign-brief) - [Drive Twain From Your AI Assistant](https://www.twain.ai/blog/mcp-server) - [Set Up The Twain HubSpot Integration](https://www.twain.ai/blog/hubspot-setup-guide) - [Import Salesforce Contacts Into Twain](https://www.twain.ai/blog/salesforce-import) - [Run Outreach Tags Through a Twain Automation](https://www.twain.ai/blog/outreach-workflows) - [Import Amplemarket Lists Into Twain](https://www.twain.ai/blog/amplemarket-import) - [Twain + n8n workflow templates](https://www.twain.ai/blog): Signup qualification, researched welcome drafts, demo preparation, LinkedIn outreach, and conversation-aware re-engagement. ## API and MCP - [API documentation](https://public.api.twain.ai/v2/docs) - [OpenAPI 3.1 specification](https://public.api.twain.ai/v2/openapi.json) - [MCP server](https://mcp.api.twain.ai/): Create and inspect workspaces, agents and campaigns, generate contacts in Base/High/Ultra, add contacts to campaigns or automations, inspect mode-specific costs, and check credits from Claude, Cursor, or another MCP client. - Public generation requests accept `BASE`, `HIGH`, or `ULTRA`.
